Should university education be free for all? This term has actually a vast meaning. It refers not only to the regular studies for those who have already graduated and make their first steps at the university. It means however also a number of additional courses, departments that enable those who have a degree to obtain a higher one.
In my opinion, not all of this options should be free as it is known that the students study various matters in various departments, often contemporaneously and they tend to get many degrees at the same time. It is allowed in Poland in spite of the situation of our budget suffering from the permanent lack of means.
Italy has coped with that problem although its financial situation is far more optimistic than the ours. Students are permitted to study only at one department, apart from the fact that the university education in this country is not free at all. Obviously, the economical situation of Italy creates them many possibilities to earn for their own education.
An average Polish student has no chance to get enough money to pay for their studies unless the studying itself is sacrificed . However, as far as the complementary studies are concerned, I am strongly convinced that it shouldnt be free. I reckon that there should be scholarships introduced which would give to those forced to pay for their education, a chance to save a t least a part of their money, moreover it would encourage them to work hard.
